What is CAE?

CAE stands for Computer Aided Engineering, a computer-aided design technology. By utilizing computer technology, we can conduct sufficient virtual trials from the early stages of design, enabling us to develop high-quality products with the fewest number of trials possible.

What kind of analysis can be done with DEFORM?

Cold, warm, and hot forging, extrusion, drawing, plate forming, rupture analysis, rolling, roll forming, and ring rolling can be analyzed.
※The required template must be selected according to the content of the analysis.
・3D templates (forging, cutting, cogging, rolling, extrusion, flow forming)
・2D templates (forging, cutting)

Is it easy to operate?

Yes, both pre-processor and post-processor use easy-to-use GUI.

Is parallel computing possible?

It is possible to calculate even in the middle of the analysis.

Is it possible to import geometry from other CAD?

3D uses the STL format (*.STL).
In addition, when reading mesh data created externally, Universal format (*.UNV), Nastran format (*.NAS), Patran format (*.PDA, *.PAT) can be used as shape data/mesh data.

What are the element types that can be calculated in the analysis?

In 2D, it is a quadrilateral element.
In 3D, it supports tetrahedral, pentahedral and hexahedral elements.
All use first-order elements.

What are templates?

A template enables easy analysis settings for each machining method.

Can I use Design of Experiments (DOE)?

Design of Experiments (DOE) is supported by DEFORM.
The Taguchi method can also be used as a sampling method.
